Everything's Stranger Down South?
So I missed Black Snake Moan when it came into theaters, because it just looked too silly, and because I hate Justin Timberlake on principle. However, I recently picked it up on DVD, and I have to admit, I really love it!! It's totally over the top and ridiculous, but it's also really fascinating and kind of endearing. Samuel Jackson and Christina Ricci are both great, and even Justin Timberlake is really good (and he doesn't sing--yay!) But what a strange film! It's definitely worth seeing. And after having lived in the south for so many years prior to moving to Los Angeles, it was odd to see that world depicted on the screen. Anyway, check it out if you have a chance. Great cinematography and soundtrack too.
